Guy put the finishing touches to three portions of beef short ribs from the kamado in the garden. The meat was blackened with smoky char and filled the kitchen with a mouth-watering aroma. From the fridge he pulled a bottle of cheap champagne. “The elixir of life, remember? It’s not about the telomeres. I keep telling them, but they don’t listen.” He smiled as he popped the bottle’s cork and carefully poured the elixir into their glasses.
