PLEASE ACT: Report War Crimes

Use this template process to apply political pressure and help end the violence

Before you click and go there, let us just outline what the point of it is.

The United Nations and the ICC have both already stated that war crimes and violations of international law have been committed by both sides since October 7th, 2023, and long before. The now former Director of the New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Craig Mokhiber, stated:

“This is a text-book case of genocide. The European, ethno-nationalist, settler colonial project in Palestine has entered its final phase, toward the expedited destruction of the last remnants of indigenous Palestinian life in Palestine. What’s more, the governments of the United States, the United Kingdom, and much of Europe, are wholly complicit in the horrific assault. Not only are these governments refusing to meet their treaty obligations “to ensure respect” for the Geneva Conventions, but they are in fact actively arming the assault, providing economic and intelligence support, and giving political and diplomatic cover for Israel’s atrocities.”

“If you line up the required elements of the convention in its definition and what we've been seeing unfolding in Gaza you will see that there is a prima facie case of genocide here; I think a very clear case of genocide.

“One of the great challenges improving genocide is often finding evidence of intent... In this case it's very easy because you have senior Israeli officials - the Prime Minister, the President, senior cabinet ministers, military officials - who have been quite public in stating their genocidal intent with regard to the civilian population in Gaza. You add to that the particular acts that are required like killing and expelling people and creating conditions that are likely to bring about the elimination of the group… all of the elements are there.”

Use a corrupt and ineffectual political process to apply visible pressure to governments, the UN and ICC

reportwarcrimes.substack.com is grounded in reality. The team there know that an ICC investigation into Israel, USA, UK or the EU isn’t going to happen, certainly not any time soon to any meaningful effect.

Getting an actual investigation going is not the primary goal.

ReportWarCrimes seeks to give the millions of people who want the present violence to stop a way to help make that happen.

Consider how many people are out on the streets around the world protesting (predominantly pro-Palestinian rights). Take a few percent of them and get them to petition the ICC against thee governments of the UK, USA and EU bloc.

That becomes a useful theatrical process.

The ICC’s Office of the Prosecutor gets flooded with referrals for those governments to be investigated.

Growing numbers can be publicised in sympathetic media and across social media that shames the UN, ICC and the relevant governments.

This action of petitioning the ICC is a Call To Action for anyone who has or would protest against the violence, that is grounded in the legal process. Think of it as homework from a protest march.

The UK Government is the first target

The UK is the only State out of it, Israel and the USA to be a State Party to the Rome Statute and therefore fully accepting of the ICC’s legitimacy and jurisdiction.

Despite this, the UK has still violated international law and is complicit in Israel’s violations, which the UN itself has called out.

ReportWarCrimes has produced an in depth petition letter that indelibly lays out why Israel and therefore the UK have broken international laws around genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression.

Petitioning the ICC to investigate the UK, while letting the UK cabinet and shadow cabinet know it’s being petitioned, then publicising that globally as much as possible, can add up to pressure that humiliates the UK into a change of stance. That may then influence Israel.

The same can (and will) be done for the USA and EU, in due course.
