If you have been putting off being vaccinated, for whatever reason, don't agonize about it, don't let anyone make you feel defensive about it. Just make a fresh decision now… no judgment… no matter why you have put it off in the past, now is the time to actually go do it because we really cannot afford you having to go to the hospital right now.
Rachel Maddow
Any reason to not take a Covid-19 gene therapy is irrelevant.
You should take one now because of a cost of hospitalization. In America, you pay for your own medical treatment. Not “us”.
None of what Maddow says in this segment is medically, scientifically, ethically or even sociologically backed by evidence. It was wrong when she said it and it got more wrong day by day after she said it.
In January 2021, Walensky told the USA that a month later, Covid deaths could have been 500,000. As of today, Covid deaths are just over 1m, before over ascribing, miscategorisation and any other form of data inaccuracy or fraud is accounted for.
Our data from the CDC today suggest… that vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick, and it’s not just in the clinical trials but also in the real world data.
Rochelle Walensky
If this claim was true at the time it was made, there would be accessible data to prove it.
That data would be subject to many factors and confounders, including:
The real world likelihood of anyone becoming infected, which is tied to real (not estimated) prevalence, transmissibility and severity of symptoms (some people have barely noticed their infection).
The length of time between any vaccine roll out and the data she is referring to. Real world data, over time, shows this statement to be false. Therefore, why would any credible “expert” make statements like this when they have not factored time, in addition to the other factors above?
To claim that vaccinated people cannot carry the virus would require concerted and controlled tests. Such tests were not in the remit of any manufacturer’s Phase 1-3 clinical trial.
Remember claims that this was a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”? This statement does nothing to drill into any of the terms that she uses, including cases, severity of cases and so on. You are looking at an “expert” who never, ever presents any form of evidence or provides references that back up any public statement that she has ever made.
This is a person whose entire government department was not fully vaccinated, whose vaccination rate was unknown to her in specific terms when asked in May 2021.
A key but self-contradictory claim in this segment is:
Evidence has repeatedly shown that prevention strategies work. With over 80% of our nation’s counties still in high or substantial transmission, CDC still recommends wearing a mask in public in these areas, washing your hands frequently and physical distancing. These methods work to prevent the spread of Covid-19, no matter the genetic sequence.
Rochelle Walensky
If prevention strategies were in widespread use and the transmission was high or substantial, perhaps the strategies weren’t having an effect? Real world data proves that these strategies did not work.
Walensky also makes claims about protective effects that include transmission reduction which were and remain false. So, her statement is constructed thus:
“Take this medical intervention now, or have more of it because it definitely does something. The evidence is that I am telling you that all the evidence shows what I am saying is true.”
Where have I heard that used since?
NY Post’s Karol Markowicz fills some column inches by saying sorry for being wrong in March 2020 about closing schools then rags on Walensky and the Covid Godhead.
Why we must demand that leaders who got COVID wrong admit it and apologize
